What is with the explosion of social network sites? How does astrology fit in? Jupiter expands, and Aquarius is about connecting but why now? What else is it?
People want to be connected; people want to feel as if someone is listening to them. People want to share experiences that are meaningful to them with others. Facebook is an Aquarian experience. Connecting with friends, as many has you want, (OK 5000 is the limit) having several groups and category of friends, not needing to wonder if they belong together, saying what you are up to with no commitment, all that is very Aquarian.
As Jupiter caught up to Neptune it appeared as if everyone has caught the Twitter facebook wave. It is constantly in the news; follow me on twitter from reporters to athletes. The mix with Chiron will heal a wound that many do not even realize they have.
Many people, even those in relationships, feel that they are not being heard. Have you ever been single for an extended period of time, enjoying life, yet when you come across something that you find thrilling find yourself wishing you had someone to share that with? Even simple pleasures, walking on the beach and looking out and seeing dolphins swimming off shore, wanting to say: I just saw dolphins to someone who you know would also get a kick out of seeing dolphins dancing in the waves?
Twitter, facebook, and the other social networking tools fill the need to share. An intrinsic desire, wanting to share, yet even in relationships today the person you may be spending the most time with is not always inspired by the same experiences as you.
The ability to post a simple message to thousands of people allows for a connection to give and receive. Hey I'm off for a vacation; I haven't had one in three years. And someone you don't know answers, have a great time. This communication, trite as it may appear, fills a hole that was dug from years of jaded relationships.
Aquarius is about friendship and connecting. It has the element of freedom, non commitment, the lesson if Aquarius is how to accept others and appreciate differences without superiority or so different that you feel separate. The social network sites fill a void and human need that has become apparent as Neptune Jupiter and Chiron have made their conjunction in Aquarius.
Could an astrologer have predicted the popularity of social networking sites? Astrology measures the passage of time and the growth and development in the human experience through interpreting the dance in the sky. As the planets move through different signs and have different connections with other planets it is easy to interpret the phenomenon of companies such as the social networking explosion.
Jupiter will move out of Aquarius soon, and Neptune and Chiron also will move on, yet they will have left their mark and gift behind as they forge ahead to funnel the next new expansion and reflection for us to experience.
As they move into Pisces they will separate and become more and more distant from each other. Yet the experience and gift of Pisces will be brought towards us, some enterprising individual will create a channel (business) that will reflect Pisces.
Perhaps our community and tribe of new found friends from facebook will soon be meeting up at the local watering hole as Jupiter moves out of Aquarius and into Pisces and the Pisces compassion to understand and help others is expanded.
